Asifnagar police arrest painter, accused of murder, while fleeing

HYDERABAD: The Asifnagar Police arrested Rajkumar on Tuesday in connection with the murder of Ranvijay Brijbihari Singh on October 16, 2022, in Dilsad Nagar Colony, Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad.

According to the police, while under the influence of alcohol, the accused Rajkumar hit Ranvijay Singh with a construction stick on his forehead, resulting in head injuries and death. Rajesh Sahani filed a complaint with the Asif Nagar Police on October 17 at 2:30 p.m.

In his complaint, he mentioned his labour contract for painting jobs in various locations throughout Hyderabad City. He has been on contract at the Dilshad Nagar Colony location in Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad, for the past three months, where he has deputed seven employees.

According to the police, Sahani received a call from one of his employees on October 16, informing him that all of his employees had consumed alcohol. Rajkumar and Ranvijay Brijbihari Singh got into a brief argument, and Rajkumar hit Ravijay Brijbihari Singh, sustaining head injuries. The injured person was immediately taken to Madhapur Medicover Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

The Asifnagar Police Station team discovered that the suspect was attempting to escape by train to his village. The team at Asifnagar immediately notified the railway department and worked with RPF Nagpur to locate and apprehend the suspect, Rajkumar, who was arrested and produced before the court on Tuesday.

A case was registered at Asifnagar police station under the relevant sections.
