Couple murdered, house robbed in Nellore

NELLORE: A couple was brutally murdered in what looks like the handiwork of inter-state bandits gang in Nellore late on Saturday. The gruesome double-murder took place at their own house in Padarupalli Ashok Nagar located on Mini Bypass Road here. The deceased were identified as Krishna Rao and his wife Vasireddy Sunithamma. The woman was said to be a local leader of the Telugu Desam Party.

The desperados are suspected to have forced their entry into the house and killed Vasireddy Sunithamma first, who was alone in the house at that time. Later, Krishna Rao was believed to have been murdered when he reached home and tried to resist the dreaded gang.

The accused decamped with huge cash and jewellery, robbed from the house. The police, who scouted the house for possible clues, said that the murders and robbery bore the signature of inter-state bandit gangs. Case is being investigated.
