Hyderabad police nab interstate drug peddler selling chocolate Ganja

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad city police on Monday apprehended an interstate drug peddler in possession of a narcotic drug substance and seized 164 packets of Ganja chocolates weighing 31kgs.

The accused, Jafar Ur Haq, a Bihar native, was illegally selling Ganja chocolates to needy customers in Asif Nagar for Rs 20-50 each, according to sleuths from the Commissioner's Task Force, West Zone, who apprehended him.

Mohd Jafar Ur Haq, a native of Bachharpur Village, Dumra Mandal, Sitamarhi District, Bihar state, moved to Hyderabad in 2015 and was residing in Zeba Bagh, near Mega Hotel, Asif Nagar, Hyderabad with his wife and four children. He was making a living by working as a Maggam blouse worker.

Mohd Jafar Ur Haq, who needed more money for family expenses, devised a plan to bring Chocolates containing Ganja from Pupri town, Sitamarhi in Bihar State, and sold them to Biharis and well-known people. In order to expand his Chocolate Ganja business, he sold Ganja chocolates to locals in Mehdipatnam for Rs. 20-50 each and made quick money.

Every two months, he would travel to Bihar to purchase Ganja Chocolates, which he would then sell in Hyderabad. However, he was apprehended by the Hyderabad meanwhile Commissioner's Task Force, West Zone team on December 26, when Mohd Jafar Ur Haq was attempting to sell the Ganja Chocolates to needy customers in Asif Nagar.

The accused was handed over to the SHO of Asif Nagar police station in Hyderabad, along with the seized material, for further investigation.
