Hyderabad police seizes illicit liquor worth Rs 1-cr, one held

HYDERABAD: The Excise police seized a large amount of illicit liquor worth Rs 1 crore while conducting searches in Pedda Amberpet, Hayatnagar, Choutuppal, and Devallamma Nagaram.

According to the police, two persons were arrested for supplying low-cost liquor of two specific brands to belt shops in Ibrahimpatnam and Hayathnagar. The searches were carried out in response to information that the illicit liquor was being sold in the belt shops.

The cops pretended to be habitual drinkers while buying alcohol from the belt store as part of their strategy, and found illicit liquor. The police apprehended the belt store manager after questioning him, and they also found a liquor storage facility.

Excise police identified illicit liquor dumps in the Pedda Amberpet, Hayatnagar, Choutuppal, and Devalamma Nagaram areas based on his information. The police launched an investigation after discovering that the dump belonged to a liquor dealer from Devalamma Nagar.
