Deputy sarpanch of Kurnapalli Gram Panchayat in Charla mandal was allegedly murdered by Maoists
CHARLA: Deputy sarpanch of Kurnapalli Gram Panchayat in Charla mandal of Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana was allegedly murdered by Maoists suspecting him to be a police informer, on Monday night. However, it was yet to be confirmed whether the murder was done by the Maoists or his rivals.
As per information, unknown persons reached the sarpanch, Erpa Ramu's residence, took him outside the village and killed him. He was not saved despite the attempts of his family members.
Erpa Ramu's body was found with a letter near his body mentioning that he was killed under the suspicion of him being a police informer. However, the details of the murder were yet to be ascertained. The police registered a case and started the investigation.
