MRO dies by suicide in Alluri Sitaramaraju district

NARSAPURAM: A Mandal Revenue Officer in Alluri Sitaramaraju district committed suicide on Thursday morning. According to information available, Tehsildar Srinivasa Rao of Pedabayalu mandal came to the office as usual on Thursday morning and asked the attendant to bring him breakfast.

However, when the attendant came back, he could not see Srinivasa Rao who was later found hanging from the ceiling of an adjacent shed. It is learnt that Srinivasa Rao, who has recently attended a meeting held at the Collectorate, was in distress after facing the wrath of higher officials regarding the land survey.

The officials and other staff believe that it could be the reason for the tehsildar to resort to the extreme step. However, full details of the incident were yet to be known.
