One beaten to death over cricket betting near Bheemili

VISAKHAPATNAM: One person was beaten to death with sticks following a dispute over cricket betting in Visakhapatnam on Tuesday night. The shocking incident, which took place at Polipalli near Bheemili, came to light on Wednesday.

A video of the brutal attack by two persons on the victim has gone viral on social media. The deceased and his two attackers were yet to be identified. The visual, captured on a mobile smartphone, shows the two attackers beating the victim indiscriminately with heavy sticks. The attackers and the victim were allegedly involved in a cricket betting racket.

A dispute arose between them on the issue on Tuesday night and it soon spiralled into an ugly fight during which, the two accused thrashed the victim at will with sticks, leading to his death. Full details of the incident were yet to emerge. The police have swung into action to investigate the case.
