HYDERABAD: A new twist emerged in the Vanasthalipuram robbery case wherein the Rs 2-crore cash was reportedly received through the hawala route.

According to reports, a complaint was lodged over the robbery of Rs 2 crore. Shocking facts came to light during the police investigation. The money was purportedly meant to be received by a person named Farooq from Riyasatsagar and MRR Bar owner Venkat Reddy from one Praveen, based in the US, through hawala.

It is learned that the two accused received about Rs 28 crore and were exchanging it in Hyderabad. Police launched a manhunt for Farooq who is absconding.
