HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday paid his last respects and tributes to Super Star Ghattamaneni Krishna, who passed away in Hyderabad in the early hours of Tuesday.

YS Jagan, upon his arrival at the Padmalaya Studios where Krishna's mortal remains were kept to allow his fans one last glimpse, hugged the veteran actor's son and Tollywood Super Star Mahesh Babu and consoled him. He offered floral tributes to Krishna before conveying his deepest condolences to the other members of the bereaved family.

Krishna, a former MP of the Congress party, had a close association with several high-profile politicians and one of the most prominent being the late YS Rajasekhara Reddy. It is said that the two families continued to share a close bonding even after the demise of YSR. YS Jagan had also visited Krishna's house in Hyderabad recently when his wife Indira Devi passed away.

The Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister flew down to Hyderabad from the Gannavaram Airport near Vijayawada on Wednesday. He was scheduled to return to Amaravati after paying tribute to Krishna.

Meanwhile, arrangements were being made for the funeral of the veteran actor with full State honours. Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR), who visited Krishna's residence on Tuesday, made the announcement to this effect. He also fondly recalled his close association with the veteran actor and expressed his pain at losing a very dear friend.

Fans of Krishna and Mahesh Babu have been thronging the Padmalaya Studios, where Krishna's mortal remains were kept, for a last glimpse of their favourite film star. The last rites were to be performed at the Filmnagar Mahaprasthanam crematorium in the afternoon.
