Hyderabad, only Indian city, bags two AIPH global awards

HYDERABAD: Hyderabad has received yet another prestigious honour, having emerged as the only Indian city to win two AIPH World Green City Awards 2022. The city of pearls on Friday bagged the awards in 'living green category' for greening the Outer Ring Road besides the prestigious overall grand award at an event held at Jeju of South Korea.

Tweeting the heartening news, Arvind Kumar, Special Chief Secretary of Municipal Administration and Urban Development of Telangana, said that the latest honour was a huge endorsement of the Haritha Haram programme. He said that the initiative was taken up by the Telangana government under the leadership of K Chandrashekar Rao and the guidance of K T Rama Rao.

The awards were instituted by the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH).
