HYDERABAD: Minister for Information Technology K T Rama Rao has laid the foundation stone for Biopharma Hub (B-Hub), a unique initiative of Government of Telangana.

Speaking on the occasion here on Tuesday, the minister said, "We aim for a US $ 100-billion valuation by 2030 (up from US $ 50 billion in 2020) driven by innovation and we have a comprehensive plan to achieve this. In order to further facilitate the growth in this direction, we are establishing Biopharma Hub (B-hub), which is a first-of-its-kind growth-phase center and biopharma scale-up manufacturing facility in India. B-Hub will help consolidate Telangana's leadership position in the biopharma space."

B-Hub is a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, aimed at providing much-needed support to biopharma R&D activities. B-Hub features a scale-up manufacturing facility along with a good laboratory practice-grade turnkey incubator.

It is expected to support small and medium-sized biopharma companies in conducting proof-of-concept studies in its clinical scale of 200L scale-up facility and will cater to research activities within the 1.5 lakh square feet while attracting talent and fostering innovation.
