HYDERABAD: Once touted to be the world’s richest man with over a wealth of Rs.25,000 cr, Prince Mukarram Jah was married to Princess Esra Birgin in 1959 and the marriage lasted till 1974 when they had divorced. Later, he married Aysha Simmons in 1979 and she died in 1989. He then married Manolya Onur in 1992, but divorced her in 1997. He also married Jameela Boulaarous in 1992 parallelly. He had married Princess Ayesha Orchedi in 1994 simultaneously. All his spouses were foreign nationals. Princess Ezra was from Royal family of Turkey, while the second one was an air hostess and employee of BBC. Manolya was a former Miss Turkey. Jameela was from Morocco, while Ayesha was a Turkish again.

Mukarram Jah s the son of Azam Jah and Princess Durru Shehvar, daughter of the last Caliph of Ottoman Empire.


Mukarram Jah has 10 children from his wives. Mukarram Jah studied at Doon school in Dehradun in India, Harrow, Cambridge and London School of Economics in London.

Mukarram Jah enjoys an honorary military title of Lieutenant General.


Prince Mukarram Jah owns Chowmahalla Palace, Falaknuma Palace, Nazirbagh Palace, Chiran Forte Palace, Naukhanda Palace, and Purani Haveli Palace.
