HYDERABAD: The visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Hyderabad on January 19 has been postponed. The Prime Minister was scheduled to set off a host of development works during this visit including the flagging off of the Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express.

The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has reportedly communicated the postponement of the Prime Minister’s visit to Union Tourisim Minister G Kishan Reddy of Telangana. The reason for the postponement was neither cited nor immediately known.

According to the previously finalised schedule, the Prime Minister, besides inaugurating the eighth Vande Bharat express of the country, was supposed to lay the foundation stone for several projects including re-development of Secunderabad Railway Station. He was also scheduled to inaugurate completed housing projects worth RS 2,597 crore at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Hyderabad.

Telangana state BJP president, Bandi Sanjay on Wednesday said that the revised dates of the Prime Minister’s visit would soon be announced.
