HYDERABAD: BRS MLA from Tandur Pilot Rohith Reddy appeared before the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) at its office here for questioning on Monday. He turned up at the ED's office here at around 3 pm following a mini-drama that unfolded during the day.

Pilot Rohith Reddy, the complainant in the sensational MLAs' poaching case, was summoned by the ED for questioning, reportedly in connection with a drugs case registered in Bengaluru. However, the legislator has been vehemently denying that he was summoned in the drugs case and in fact maintained that the ED had not mentioned any details about the case in its notice to him. Almost confirming his claims, the ED too has not revealed any details so far of the case for which the MLA is being sought for questioning.

Even as Pilot Rohith Reddy was anticipated to appear before the ED on Monday morning itself, his arrival was delayed amid dramatic developments during the day. There was speculation in the air since Sunday that the legislator might seek more time from the ED to appear for questioning.

It was reported that the MLA received a call from Pragathi Bhavan on Monday morning following which he was closeted in a meeting with BRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). Later, Rohith Reddy's advocate approached the ED officials with a letter requesting a week's time for his client to appear before the agency. Rohith Reddy reportedly sought the extra time citing bank holidays because of which, he claimed, he could not collect all the requisite details of his accounts, as sought by the agency.

However, the ED flatly rejected his plea for extra time and insisted that the legislator appear before it on Monday itself. Left with no other option, Rohith Reddy descended on the ED's office at around 3 pm.
