HYDERABAD: In an unusual incident, a rare breed cat was stolen by an unidentified person within the Vanasthalipuram police station limits in Hyderabad. The incident evoked shock and outrage among pet lovers after the news went viral on social media on Tuesday.
Mohammad, the owner of the 18-month-old pet, lodged a missing complaint at the nearby police station. According to reports, the cat belongs to the Khao Manee breed, which is considered very rare and precious. The breed is also known as diamond eye cats hailing from Thailand as they come with one blue-coloured and one green-coloured eyes.
The police, who checked the CCTV footage, found that a person who came on a two-wheeler had abducted the cat. The owner of the cat had reportedly purchased the cat for Rs 50,000.
