Rs.2,214 cr for drinking water from Sunkishala to Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: The Telangana State Cabinet has sanctioned Rs. 2,214.79 crore for treatment of 33 tmc feet of water drawn from Sunkishala project to supply drinking water to Hyderabad city.

The Cabinet decided to increase the number of co-opted members from five to 15 in Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporator and from five to 10 in other municipal corporations.

New colonies would be developed to house as many as 2016 families who lost their homes in the recent floods in Bhadrachalam. The State Government would also allot lands for courts in 21 district headquarters.

The government decided to enhance the number of beneficiaries per Assembly constituency from 100 to 500. Officials are instructed to complete the identification of beneficiaries as soon as possible.

Ministers and district officials would discuss the issue of "podu" lands of Scheduled Tribes and submit a consolidated report to the State Government.
