Telangana govt turns around loss-making Vijaya Dairy, planning mega dairy

HYDERABAD: Telangana Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav, after inaugurating a Vijaya Dairy stall in the Nampally Exhibition Grounds on Friday, said that the prestigious dairy company was one of the best in the State and in the country and it was important to increase the company’s consumer base.

He said that it was important to make it known and accessible to people. Hence, a Vijaya Dairy stall with most of their products, was inaugurated in the 46-day exhibition in Hyderabad as people from all around the country and the world visit here.

Talasani Srinivas said, “Vijaya Dairy was on the verge of shutting down. However, after Telangana was formed, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao put effort into reviving it. Now its turnover crossed Rs 700 crore. The government is also planning to build a mega dairy farm. The exhibition is a good way to give Vijaya Dairy products more exposure.”
