HYDERABAD: Telangana Home Minister Mohammed Mahmood Ali, known for his gentle and affable demeanour, has recently received a 'biryani call' late in the night. If you are wondering, it was an offer to treat the minister with a plate of mouth-watering biryani, you are wrong. The call that came from a concerned citizen was all about 'not allowing the biryani centres to remain open till 1 am' as it spoils the health of biryani lovers.

The caller, who apparently dialled the minister late in the night, began asking the minister about a social media post which spoke of permitting biryani centres to remain open until 1 pm. Stung by the flimsiness of the enquiry, Mahmood Ali was heard politely telling him that he was a minister and that he had more important 'tensions' to deal with. He was also heard advising the caller that it was not appropriate to call him for such silly reasons.

The unidentified caller was however determined to put across his viewpoint to the minister at any cost. He demanded that the biryani joints should be closed earlier to which the minister said that they were being closed by 11 pm. Still unrelenting, the caller kept the minister engaged in the conversation, saying that keeping the biryani-selling restaurants open till 1 pm would only end up spoiling the health of its consumers. He went on to say that people would continue to spend time outside until midnight for the sake of biryani and reach home very late.

The recording of the call is currently going viral on social media platforms evoking hilarious responses from the netizens.
