Three lakh clay Ganesh idols to be distributed for eco-friendly festival in GHMC

HYDERABAD: In order to make the celebrations of Ganesh Chaturthi eco-friendly, the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) is making arrangements to distribute three lakh clay Ganesh idols to the people.

The idols will be distributed free of cost in various circles from Saturday.

Mayor Gadwal Vijayalakshmi appealed to the citizens to worship clay Ganesh idols and refrain from using PoP idols to protect the environment. She also urged the people to keep pandal premises clean.

Instructions were issued to Zonal Commissioners to make arrangements for additional one lakh clay Ganesh idols for distribution.

The Ganesh Navratri would start on August 31 and continue till September 9.
