HYDERABAD: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Thursday filed a writ petition in Telangana High Court seeking the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the events that transpired at a farmhouse in Moinabad near Hyderabad on Wednesday. It also appealed for the high court's directions for the transfer of the case from the Cyberabad Police to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

The BJP came under the cloud following an alleged attempt to poach four of the TRS MLAs into the saffron party with heavy enticements of money and contracts in exchange for it. The Cyberabad Police, who raided a farmhouse in Moinabad on Wednesday night, arrested three persons, Ramachandra Bharti alias Satish Sharma, Simhayaji and Nanda Kumar, for allegedly trying to broker a deal running into hundreds of crores of rupees with TRS MLAs Guvvala Balaraju (Acchampet), Rega Kantha Rao (Pinapaka), Harshavardhan Reddy (Kollapur) and Pilot Rohit Reddy (Tandur).

The Telangana BJP, which has been vehemently denying accusations of its involvement in the sensational bribing scandal, has approached the High Court challenging the action initiated by the Cyberabad Police into the case.

BJP leader Gujjula Premender Reddy, in a writ petition filed in the Telangana High Court, expressed serious doubts over the ongoing investigation by the Cyberabad police. He sought the high court's orders for the constitution of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to go deep into the controversy and unravel the truth through a fair investigation. Expressing displeasure with the Cyberabad Police, he conveyed his apprehensions on a fair investigation into the case.

The BJP leader appealed to the Telangana High Court to transfer the case from the Cyberabad Police to the CBI in order to get to the bottom of the truth. He also asked for the constitution of a SIT to conduct an impartial probe.
