HYDERABAD: TSRTC Chairman and Nizamabad Rural MLA Bajireddy Govardhan on Thursday flagged off two special bus services that would ply in Hyderabad City in the name of "Hyderabad Darshini" to attract tourists coming to witness the historical places in the twin cities.

Speaking on the occasion, Bajireddy Govardhan said that the RTC was happy to start bus services for tourists to promote tourism in the state. He said that the Hyderabad Darshini programme was designed to cover major tourist destinations and historical buildings of Hyderabad within a span of 12 hours.

Stating that these bus services would start from Alpha Hotel Secunderabad at 8:30 am on Saturday and Sunday, the TSRTC Chairman said that if the popularity of these packages increased, they would expand it to other week days as well. Appealing to the Hyderabad residents to patronise the novel tourist package, Bajireddy Govardhan asserted that the TSRTC was gaining momentum with the initiatives of Chief Minister Kalvakuntla Chandrasekhara Rao.

According to the schedule, the bus service under Hyderabad Darshini package will start from Alpha Hotel in Secunderabad at 8:30 am and reach Birla Mandir first where it will stay between 9 am and 10 am before travelling to Chowmohalla Palace. There, the tourists will have time to go around from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm. The bus will then reach Taramati Baradari Resorts, a tourist destination (1 pm to 1:45 pm), followed by Golconda Fort (2 pm to 3:30 pm), Durgam Cheruvu (4 pm to 5 pm), Cable Bridge (5:30 to 6 pm), Hussain Sagar and NTR Park (6:30 to 7:30 pm). After covering all the places, the bus will return to Secunderabad Alpha Hotel by 8 pm.

The TSRTC is providing a 10 percent discount on breakfast and meal costs for passengers. The ticket prices are fixed at Rs 250 for adults and Rs 130 for children in Metro Express services while it is Rs 450 for adults and Rs 340 for children on Metro Luxury A/C bus. Tourists are advised to visit the TSRTC website www.tsrtconline.in to book their tickets.

Bajireddy Govardhan said that college students, employers, school students and others should take advantage of this unique touris package offered by the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation.
