UoH student from Netherlands wins top honour for Sanskrit research paper

A student of UoH hailing from the Netherlands has won the prize for the best research paper in Sanskrit studies

HYDERABAD: A student of the University of Hyderabad (UoH), Maria Elisabeth Bakker hailing from the Netherlands, has won the prize for the best research paper in Sanskrit studies. The research was based on "Yogadarśananidhi in Kālidāsa's Raghuvaṃśa Canto I" (treasure of Yoga philosophy in Kalidasa).

All-India Kalidasa Samaroha was organized by the Vikram University of Ujjain from November 4 to 10 in the year 2022. However, owing to unavoidable circumstances, Maria Bakker could not attend the conference in person.

Maria Elisabeth Bakker is a student at the University of Leiden in the program of South and South East Asian Studies with a major in Sanskrit. She had come to India to further learn Sanskrit at an Indian University.
