Woman stages sit-in at husband's house in Hyderabad

HYDERABAD: A woman staged a protest in front of her husband's residence at IDPL Township here on Friday. She accused her husband of harassing her and moving the court for divorce.

The police, who reached the spot to calm down the situation, have said that the woman, Varalakshmi, got married on October 29, 2020 to Aravind Chary, keyboard player working with Tollywood music director MM Keeravani.

However, a few months after they got married, Aravind Chary allegedly started harassing her. Her family members alleged that Chary was exerting pressure on her to divorce him.

Varalakshmi, along with members of a few women's organisations, squatted in front of Aravind's house demanding justice.
