HYDERABAD: Telangana Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan, who appears to be on a collision course with the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government in the state, stirred up a fresh feud on Thursday. Taking part in an event named "Beginning of the fourth year in the service of the people of Telangana at Raj Bhavan here, she came up with a series of barbs against the state government. One of her grouses is that the state government led by Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao had humiliated the governor's office.

The TRS, however, refuted her claims and even turned the heat on the Governor for transforming the venerated institution of a governor into a political stage. MLC Kavitha led her party's rebuttals in a scathing attack on social media platform Twitter. While lamenting that the office of the Telangana governor had turned into a political stage, she alleged that it was determined to defame the Telangana government and Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao.

Kavitha claimed that the BJP had realised its smear campaigns could not con the people of the state. And the governor's statements come perfectly timed with it.

"The office of Governor of Telangana has turned into a political stage that is determined to defame the TRS Govt and CM KCR garu. The statements of Hon'ble Governor come at a time when they realised that the BJP driven smear campaigns can't con the people of Telangana," read her tweet.

Telangana Minister for Energy Jagadish Reddy upped the ante even further by commenting that it had become a fashion for the governor to hurl accusations against the state government and KCR. Terming the Governor's line of attack 'inappropriate', he alleged that Tamilisai Soundararajan was indulging in this type of tirade only to hog the headlines.

Jagadish Reddy also accused the governor of misusing her office to create political mileage for the BJP. "There is no one far more mature than KCR in respecting constitutional institutions and people in such offices. The governor, who is supposed to uphold the dignity and respect of her office, is indulging in politics. We leave it to her wisdom," he remarked.

In the latest of a long series of provocations, aimed at the TRS government, the governor on Thursday questioned why KCR was not meeting her. "What prevents him, his ministers, MLAs and MLCs from coming to Raj Bhavan? Is the governor's office a place for untouchables?", she wondered.
