KARIMNAGAR: BJP Telangana unit President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Tuesday claimed that the KCR government had arrested him during his Praja Sangrama Yatra only to divert the public attention from the liquor scam in which his daughter Kavitha was involved.

Addressing the media here after his confinement to his house, he dared the TRS chief to suspend his daughter from the party to prove his sincerity. And Kavitha should also face the investigation to prove her innocence, he said. In a nutshell, my arrest was a part of an attempt to save his daughter, he commented.

The BJP state chief vowed that he would not give up his yatra despite the impediments being created by the TRS government. He alleged that the success of his Praja Sangrama Yatra, which has completed 21 days, was leaving the Telangana Chief Minister worried.

Sanjay also challenged KCR to embark on a yatra himself if he thinks he has done any good to the Telangana society. "I ask you to start a yatra yourself. Go to people and tell them what you have done over the years. Just because you keep taking people for a ride with false promises, you are scared of doing it. And you are also worried when BJP's Praja Sangrama Yatra is receiving good public response", he said.

He said that he would resume his yatra from Warangal itself where it was foiled on Tuesday. On August 27, the BJP will conduct a public meeting in Warangal and that BJP National President JP Nadda will address it, he said.

Bandi Sanjay demanded that KCR spell out the reasons for his arrest and also respond to the liquor scam. "Entire Telangana is waiting for your reaction on the issue and the involvement of your family members," he remarked.

The BJP state chief alleged that several TRS leaders including Kavitha were involved in the scam. "The TRS leaders have their involvement in liquor scams everywhere. Yesterday, it was the Delhi scam. Very soon, the Punjab scam will come to the fore. And we will not hesitate to get liquor irregularities in Telangana investigated as well", he warned.

Claiming that the BJP was going to win the Munugode by-election effortlessly, he alleged that KCR was vary of this fact and hence was trying to scuttle his yatra. He also described the TRS public meeting in Munugode as an 'utter flop' while projecting the BJP's event next day as a grand success.
