HYDERABAD: Telangana IT and Industries Minister K T Rama Rao slammed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its Munugode candidate Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy on Tuesday and said that if he won the elections, that would be the end of the Assembly constituency's development.

Addressing a meeting of the TRS Vidyarthi Sangham at Telangana Bhavan here, the Minister said that Raj Gopal Reddy only joined the BJP as his company was awarded Rs 18,000 crores, which was more like a bribe than a contract. In a veiled attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central ministers, KTR said that the people who doled out the benefit were silent on the by-election. He asked Narendra Modi to admit that this was just propaganda.

KTR wondered that, when people from Gujarat could come here and aspire to spread their wings in Telangana, why should there be an objection to anyone to the TRS going national in the name of Bhartiya Rashtra Samithi (BRS). He said that the BRS flag and agenda would remain the same as that of the TRS.

He asserted that the TRS was putting up a strong fight to the BJP's dirty politics and would win the upcoming byelections. Just like how the TRS had succeeded after overcoming all the challenges during the separate statehood movement, he was sure that the BRS would also march its way to success.

Telangana Minister for Energy G Jagadish Reddy said that Munugode failed to prosper because Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy alone became richer in the Assembly constituency.
