HYDERABAD: The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) have a covert understanding, said Congress Leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday at Necklace Road in Hyderabad.

While addressing a rally here on Tuesday, Rahul Gandhi blasted both the TRS and the BJP, claiming, "The TRS openly supports the BJP, and this becomes clear whenever new bills are passed in Loksabha and Rajya Sabha. It is very clear that the TRS and the BJP have a covert understanding. It is therefore evident that the TRS and the BJP have a secret understanding."

The Congress leader said, "The BJP and TRS work together, as is plainly obvious from their drama-filled campaigning, and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao communicates with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The Prime Minister calls KCR and gives him instructions, which he blindly follows but they act as rivals outside."

Rahul Gandhi's Bharat Jodo Yatra arrived in Hyderabad on Tuesday, receiving a warm welcome from party cadres and supporters.

The yatra arrived at Necklace Road around 7 p.m. after passing through busy areas such as Patthergatti, Madina Circle, Afzal Gunj, MJ Market, Nampally, Saifabad, and Secretariat.

Day 55 of the Bharat Jodo Yatra is special as Rahul Gandhi hoisted the national flag from Charminar, where Rajiv Gandhi began the Sadbhavna Yatra on October 19, 1990.

Rahul Gandhi went on to say that the Bharat Jodo Yatra is against hatred and violence, but that the BJP and TRS parties are fostering hatred and instilling violence, which is adversely affecting the country. Nobody will be able to stop our Bharat Jodo Yatra, which is completely dedicated to spreading peace and ahimsa.

When comparing Delhi's pollution to that of Hyderabad, Rahul Gandhi stated, "I mistakenly believed that Delhi was the most polluted city; nevertheless, when I arrived in Hyderabad, I learned that Hyderabad was just as polluted as Delhi." Rahul Gandhi claimed that Hyderabad's infrastructure is deplorable, with more potholes than proper roads.

Mallikarjun Kharge, president of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) who visited Hyderabad for the first time after taking charge as AICC President, said that lakhs of people are joining Rahul Gandhi's yatra, and he feels honoured to be part of it in Hyderabad. Rahul Gandhi is on a huge mission, with a goal of walking 3500 kilometres and meeting people of all races and creeds.

Kharge stated that senior Congress leader Sonia made a historic decision for Telangana, "The Congress Party is constantly fighting for the people's demands, which is why Telangana was created in their best interests. Sonia Gandhi has made a historic decision by granting Telangana".

Kharge lashed out at the BJP and TRS, saying, "Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has has forgotten the essence and basis of why Telangana was given. It has become more about his family's vested interests than the larger interests of the people. I see no difference between Prime Minister Modi and KCR. KCR is visiting other states and interacting with various party leaders, but I urge him to first focus on Telangana and work for its development".

"KCR is supporting all the bills brought by BJP and on other hand, they say they are against BJP ideology and wanted a non- BJP govt," he added.

"Prime Minister Modi always asks what you Congress did in 70 years," Kharge said, recalling the Congress party's contribution to the country over the last 70 years. "I wanted to tell him that Modi is PM now because of the fruits of Congress, which helped this country earn independence and become a democratic country."

The AICC president slammed the BJP government, stating, "The Modi government and the RSS are attempting to divide the country and spread hatred. They are dividing the nation state basis language basis and all possible ways.".

While thanking Hyderabad, Rahul Gandhi stated, "If Hyderabad wants to remain a centre for Information Technology (IT) and further prosper, they cannot do it with violence and hatred, but only with the help of Ahimsa, brotherhood, and love. And Hyderabad is known for its culture, peace, and love, which are instilled in the city's DNA."
