265-foot-tall Vastu-compliant Telangana Secretariat nearing completion

HYDERABAD: Being built up to a height of 265 foot and spread over 28 acres of land, the new Secretariat building of Telangana is nearing its completion. The brand-new complex with state-of-the-art features, will be inaugurated by Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) on his birthday, February 17, 2023.

The 11-storey fully Vastu-compliant building will house the Chief Minister’s office and administration wing on the sixth floor. The offices of the 16 ministers and their departments are being set up on the second and fifth floors.

Located on the first and second floors are the offices of general administration and finance departments. Offices of other departments are being readied on the third, fourth and fifth floors. Parking facility has been provided within the secretariat premises for senior officials, staff and visitors.

As part of its unique architecture, the new Secretariat edifice will feature two main domes and 34 small domes. The two main domes also sport the replicas of the four lions of the national emblem, each one being 18-foot tall. The Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for the new secretariat building on June 27, 2019. Since then, the Telangana Secretariat has been functioning from the nearby Burgula Rama Krishna Rao Bhavan.
