HYDERABAD: The Moinabad Police on Tuesday received a setback in the TRS MLAs' poaching case after an Anti-Corruption Bureau special court here dismissed a memo filed by it.

The Moinabad Police on November 22, 2022, filed the memo in the ACB Special Court to include a few names among the accused. B L Santhosh, Thushar Vellappally, Jaggu Swamy and Srinivas were the persons the police intended to add to the accused list in the case.

However, the ACB Court, which took up hearing on the matter on Tuesday, rejected the move and struck down the memo.

Full details with regard to the ACB Special Court decision were awaited.

The Telangana Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been investigating the sensational bribery and poaching case targeting four TRS MLAs, suspects the involvement of B L Santhosh, Thushar, Jaggu Swamy and Srinivas in the scandal. The investigating agency had already served notices, summoning some of them for questioning in Hyderabad.

But its move came a cropper after the Telangana High Court granted a stay on the SIT notices. So far, three persons – Ramachandra Bharathi alias Satish Sharma, Simhayaji and Nandu Kumar – were arrested in the case following the sensational expose of the conspiracy to lure a few TRS MLAs to cause a split in the party and eventually topple the State Government. The three were subsequently released on bail.
