AICC’s new incharge of Telangana Manikrao Thakre in Hyderabad, to hold series of meetings

HYDERABAD: Manikrao Thakre, senior All-India Congress Committee (AICC) functionary and new incharge of party’s Telangana affairs, arrived in Hyderabad on Wednesday. Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) president Revanth Reddy and other leaders welcomed Thackeray at the Shamshabad Airport.

According to reports, the Telangana in-charge of the party will meet with various leaders at Gandhi Bhavan between 10:30 am and 6 pm. Thackeray will first hold a meeting with the AICC secretaries concerned, followed by a one-on-one meeting with TPCC president Revanth Reddy and Congress Legislative Party (CLP) leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka. A meeting with the PAC members is scheduled at 7 pm.

The senior leader is also expected to hold meetings with DCCs, office-bearers and chairmen and representatives of affiliated bodies on Thursday.

Manikrao Thakre was appointed as AICC in-charge of Telangana affairs replacing Manickam Tagore, in a move to set things right in the state party unit which is beset with infighting. This is Thackeray’s first official visit to Telangana after his appointment as Telangana Congress incharge.
