HYDERABAD: Telangana BJP President Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Wednesday demanded that Rs 1 crore be given as compensation, along with a house, to the families of women who died at Ibrahimpatnam medical camp after a laparoscopy. He said that Rs 10 lakh should be given as compensation to the 30 women undergoing treatment at Jubilee Hills Apollo hospital after the mishap.

On August 25, laparoscopy, a procedure adopted for family planning operation, was performed on 34 women at the Community Health Center in Ibrahimpatnam. Consequently, four women lost their lives. The other 30 women were also undergoing treatment for serious post-operative complications.

Bandi Sanjay visited the patients at Jubilee Hills Apollo. "The laparoscopy takes just five minutes and people lost their lives because of such a small operation. This shows that the KCR-led government are murderers. Why hasn't he visited the victims? Why is he going to Bihar instead of being here? The BJP condemns their idea of doing a family planning operation on 34 women in one hour. The Minister for Health is responsible for this incident and should be dismissed immediately. The Chief Minister is not taking action against Harish Rao as he is a family member." said Bandi Sanjay.
