HYDERABAD: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Padyatris, resumed the evening leg of his Bharat Jodo Yatra from BHEL in Hyderabad on Wednesday. This is the eighth day of the yatra in Telangana.

Early Wednesday morning, actress Pooja Bhatt joined Rahul Gandhi in Hyderabad on the 56th day of his Bharat Jodo Yatra. The actress walked around 10.5 km as part of the yatra.

Rahul Gandhi began the day at 6:30 am setting out on foot from Bowenpally where he had a night halt on Tuesday. After winding through Ferozguda, Balanagar, Moosapet, Kukatpally, Madinaguda, Miyapur, Patancheruvu and Muthangi.

Rahul Gandhi was to travel a total of 27.8 kilometres in Hyderabad on Wednesday. The yatra's night halt will be at Muthangi.

Earlier in the day, AICC President Mallikarjun Kharge, who visited Hyderabad for the first time after taking charge as AICC President, interacted with the Bharat Yatris at Bowenpally.

He said that the Yatris, who were walking 3,500 km along with Rahul Gandhi, were a great source of inspiration for the party cadres. Bharat Jodo Yatra is bringing about a silent revolution that will change the political landscape, he claimed.

Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday unfurled the national flag in front of Hyderabad's landmark Charminar, 32 years after his father, then-party chief Rajiv Gandhi, began the 'Sadbhavna Yatra' from the same place.
