HYDERABAD: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Dr Dasoju Sravan on Friday resigned from the party amid speculation that he would be going back to the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS). As per reports, he will be formally joining the TRS fold on Friday afternoon in the presence of party working president Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao (KTR).

It is going to be a home-coming for the leader who was earlier with the TRS. In his resignation letter sent to BJP Telangana unit president Bandi Sanjay, Sravan blamed it on the lack of direction within the Telangana BJP and the party's 'unethical tactics' to win the Munugode Assembly by-election.

Sravan's decision to quit the BJP took everyone by surprise and caught the BJP off-guard as his announcement came from nowhere. Until the time his resignation letter began circulating in the media groups, there was absolutely no hint of disgruntlement on his side.

Interestingly, Dasoju Sravan's affiliation with the BJP lasted only for about 75 days. After resigning from the Congress party, he was formally inducted into the BJP in Delhi on August 7 in the presence of Union Minister G Kishan Reddy and BJP's Telangana incharge leader Tarun Chugh.

He quit Congress expressing his resentment over the style of functioning of TPCC chief Revanth Reddy. His resignation, coming two days after Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy's departure from the party, generated a lot of buzz on the likelihood of many more following suit.

An active member of the Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his student days, Sravan was also known for being a former senior executive of the information technology sector. He forayed into the mainstream of politics by joining Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) way back in 2009.
