HYDERABAD: A rare phenomenon known as dryline showers was observed in parts of Hyderabad as a result of the transition from warm moist conditions to cold dry weather. Weather experts predict that Hyderabad would experience cold weather beginning January 6, 2023.

Hyderabad residents reportedly woke up on Friday morning to light rain and fog. Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, Ameerpet, Begumpet, RTC cross roads, Punjagutta, and other areas have received light rains.

Dense fog was visible in various parts of Telangana since Friday morning, according to Telangana Weatherman T Balaji. As he predicted scattered spells of light rain were witnessed in parts of Hyderabad in the early hours of Friday.

The Telangana Weatherman said, "Almost 50 percent of India is covered by dense fog currently even many parts of Telangana mainly North, Central parts and also outskirts of Hyderabad city under dense fog conditions. Beginning January 6, 2023, cold waves will intensify the cold weather across Telangana. We will have a drastic drop in night temperatures from January 7, 2023 due to dry northerly cold winds".
