HYDERABAD: Peeved by the comments made by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on him at the recent Medchal public meeting, Etela Rajender, Malkajgiri MP candidate of the BJP said that he considered Revanth Reddy, as a political novice and lilliput.

“The CM said that I was an outsider for Malkajgiri. He is asking me what business I have in Malkajgiri. But Etela Rajender doesn’t belong to one particular region or constituency,” Etela said on Sunday. Etela said that he struggled and matured as a politician after a 22-year-long journey.

He pointed out that a leader must not get carried away by a few claps. “I was Finance Minister at a time when the State was born and we were not sure of any particular direction. We have brought the State from zero to the present state of finances. That is why I thought I would give Revanth Reddy the benefit of the doubt and kept quiet for three months,” he pointed out.

Etela opined that a leader should evolve into a statesman by shunning cynicism. “The system will collapse if the leader is a directionless person. And I don’t want to waste my time talking about such political lilliputs,” he said. He said that he hoped that the Congress Government would fulfill all its promises for the larger interests of the State.
