JNTU relaxes credit-based detention system in response to Governor's request

JNTU students have been sending petitions to the Raj Bhavan, and scores of students made fervent appeals to the Governor.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan appreciated the JNTU authorities on Tuesday for their positive response to university students' requests regarding the credit-based detention system.

JNTU students have been sending petitions to the Raj Bhavan, and scores of students made fervent appeals to the Governor, seeking relaxation in the credit-based detention system, when she interacted with the students through Twitter Space on the occasion of former President of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam's birth anniversary on October 15, 2022.

The Raj Bhavan authorities have addressed a letter to the JNTU in response to their requests and on the Governor's orders, outlining the complaints of the students over the credit-based detention system and making a formal request to look into their issues.

In response to the Raj Bhavan's initiative, the JNTU authorities responded positively and decided to extend some relaxation in terms of credit-based detention system for the current academic year.
