KCR reviews progress of new Secretariat works
The seven-story Secretariat building, named after BR Ambedkar, has a built-up area of seven lakh square feet and is being constructed at a cost of Rs 650 crore

HYDERABAD: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao visited the new Secretariat construction site on Thursday. He was accompanied by ministers, T Harish Rao, Vemula Prashant Reddy and G Jagadish Reddy, and senior officials.
According to reports, Chief Minister KCR spoke with engineers and other officials and inquired about ongoing construction at the new secretariat premises.
The seven-story Secretariat building, named after BR Ambedkar, has a built-up area of seven lakh square feet and is being constructed at a cost of Rs 650 crore.
According to official sources, roughly 90 percent of the work has already been completed, with the remaining 10 percent expected to be completed soon. In fact, a beautiful night view reflection of the edifice in the placid waters of Hussain Sagar was tweeted by Municipal Administration Minister K T Rama Rao, who had hinted that the new building was likely to be inaugurated in a couple of months from now.
KCR inspected the terracotta cladding on walls, elevators and dining and meeting halls at every place. He said the new building would be awe-inspiring and drawing inspiration from Dr Ambedkar. He said Dholpur stone was extensively used in the construction and reviewed the structural detail minutely and made some suggestions.
