HYDERABAD: The BRS has concluded its preparatory meetings for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections on Monday. The meetings began on January 3 for each of the 17 Lok Sabha seats and concluded with the preparation of blueprint for the Nalgonda seat.

Addressing BRS leaders from Nalgonda at the Telangana Bhavan on Monday, party working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) said that the party would hold meetings for each of the 119 Assembly seats in the State from the first week of February.

He added that lack of coordination between the party and the Government led to the loss of BRS in the undivided Nalgonda district. He stressed the importance of countering false propaganda on social media and called for a united efforts to secure victory in the Nalgonda Parliament election.

KTR also asserted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had colluded Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to target the BRS. He called on leaders to create awareness among the people about the collusion between both these parties.

Stating that there was a huge support for the party president K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) and many people have already distanced themselves from the Congress, KTR asked the party leaders to strengthen the party and shape public perception in favour of the BRS for the upcoming polls.

“We haven’t even started talking, but the Congress leaders are already scared and running away. Imagine what will happen if KCR comes to the Assembly,” KTR said.

He also criticised Congress leaders for making bold promises during the elections without considering their consequences. Accusing the Congress of trying to evade implementing these promises, KTR said that the BRS would not let it happen. "Due to the apathy of the Congress Government, major irrigation projects have been handed over to the Krishna River Management Board putting the future of Telangana at risk," said KTR.

He pointed out that for the first time in recent times, farmers face the threat of declaring a crop holiday under Nagarjuna Sagar ayacut due to the inefficiency of the Congress Government.

"Power cuts have already commenced in the State, while Congress leaders are planning to evade their electoral promises like free power up to 200 units to every household. During elections, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy urged people not to pay the electricity bills from last November. Let us all encourage people to send their bills to him, instead of paying them,” he added.
