SIRCILLA: BRS working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) has promised that the Gulf victims will be provided Rs 5 lakh life insurance, apart from drafting a special policy for the migrant workers and implementing it from January. As part of his campaign for the upcoming Assembly elections, KTR was in the erstwhile Karimnagar district here on Sunday.

Speaking at a roadshow in Choppadandi, KTR said, “If the Congress is voted to power, once again the people of Telangana will be supplied three hours of power. People should decide whether they want power or the Congress? It was the Congress leaders who gave a meager pension of Rs 200 in their regime are now trying to deceive the people with Rs 4,000 per month. How can we believe them?” New ration cards would be given to the eligible beneficiaries across the State in January 2024 and the existing card holders would also be provided fine rice soon after the BRS is voted to power, he added.

The BRS working president said that in 2014, the price of a gas cylinder was Rs 400 and after a decade it reached Rs 1,200. “If the BRS is voted to power, a gas cylinder will be supplied for Rs 400. An insurance facility with Rs 5 lakh will be provided for the white ration card holders,” he said. Highlighting the welfare done by the BRS Government, he added that it was Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) who introduced the Rythu Bandhu scheme and credited around Rs 73,000 crore in the accounts of 70 lakh farmers in the State.

KTR said that be it upgradation of thandas into village panchayats, Rythu Bhima, a six per cent reservation to tribals, distribution of podu lands or pension for beedi workers, all these programmes were taken up by the BRS Government which proved the testament of KCR towards the welfare of the people. At Veernapally in Sircilla district, he took potshots at the Congress for hoodwinking the people with a sympathy card. “People should draw a comparison between the Congress and the present BRS, where Telangana is progressing at a brisk pace in all the sectors by balancing both the welfare and development,” he said.

At Yellareddypet, KTR ridiculed the Congress for making baseless allegations on him of misusing funds. “While the Congress leaders are in Hyderabad, they allege that KTR is diverting all funds to Sircilla. But when they are campaigning here, they only make statements that development was not done here. People should teach a befitting lesson to the Congress in the upcoming elections and once again bless the BRS to power for their holistic development,” he said.
