ZURICH: Telangana Minister for IT and Industrial Development K T Rama Rao said that the Telangana model is the fastest growing State of India, with the best schemes for every sector, on Sunday.

KTR spoke at the 'Meet and Greet' programme organised by the Indian diaspora at Zurich, before heading to the World Economic Forum meeting, which would be held at Davos, Switzerland, from January 16 to 20, 2023. Indians living in Switzerland, United Kingdom, Denmark, Germany, Norway, and other countries attended the gathering.

The Minister spoke about the development achieved by the Telangana government since its inception in 2014, holistic development model and other topics.

KTR said that Paddy production, which was at 68 lakh tonnes and procurement by the Government 24 lakh tonnes in 2014, had grown to 3.5 crore tonnes of production and 2 crore tonnes procurement by 2022.

IT exports out of Telangana grew from Rs. 57,000 crore to Rs 1.83 lakh crore and the per capita of Telangana grew from Rs 1.24 lakh in 2014 to Rs 2.78 lakh, while national average was Rs 1.49 lakh, KTR said.

Speaking about the progress in villages, he said that under the leadership of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao, every village had a nursery, vaikunta dhamam, and 10 percent of Gram Panchayat budget was earmarked as green budget. He said that the government provided a tractor and a tanker for every gram panchayat in the State. KTR said that the needs of farmers were taken care of by providing free power round-the-clock, Rythu Bandhu and Rythu Bhima schemes, high quality seeds, fertilizers and pesticides, and Rythu Vedikas were built.

He said that Palle Pragathi was a role model, and that the needs of people in villages were thoroughly thought through by CM KCR, which no other CM or PM did.

The Minister said that five revolutions were unfolding in Telangana – Pink revolution (meat), yellow revolution (oil palm), blue revolution (inland fisheries), white revolution (milk) and green revolution (crops).

KTR placed three requests before the NRIs. He urged them to be State’s goodwill ambassadors, participate in government programmes like Mana Ooru - Mana Badi and promote Telangana and India. KTR also assured complete support to anyone who wanted to make small investments in the State and create jobs.
