HYDERABAD: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao (KTR) warned of legal action against certain YouTube channels that are spreading false news against the BRS and its leaders and make a formal complaint to YouTube against such fake channels.

Taking to X on Sunday, KTR said that some of these channels put thumbnails to mislead people and show pure lies in the name of news. “Criminal and illegal videos and fake news are being propagated either due to blind opposition towards the BRS or due to the money given by the ruling party. We feel that this is part of a conspiracy to harm our party, particularly me. These channels try to confuse and mislead people,” he said.

KTR said that earlier too the party had initiated legal action against those media organizations that published false propaganda and falsehoods against the party and its leaders. “Let's legally face these nefarious conspiracies. We will also register defamation cases and take criminal action against YouTube channels that propagate falsehoods and spread propaganda in the name of news with misleading thumbnails,” KTR said.

He said that BRS would file a complaint with YouTube to ban those YouTube channels. “While we still appeal to them to change their ways, we warn those who are running malicious affairs to be prepared for appropriate punishment as per the law,” the BRS working president said.
