MAHABUBABAD: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s last leg of a three-day visit to Telangana began with BJP's ‘Sakala Janula Vijaya Sankalpa Sabha’ public meeting in Mahabubabad on Monday where he addressed a huge gathering.

The Prime Minister, however, failed to evoke a response from the audience, unlike in other places where they would repeat after him and turn on the torchlight on their mobile phones in agreement. The Prime Minister did use Telugu lines like what BRS promised you are ‘Neellu Nidhulu Niayamakalu, and what you got is ‘Kanneellu Mosalu Nirudyogulu,’ but when he wanted the audience to repeat what he said, as they could not follow his Hindi.

He started his speech with his trademark line ‘Naa Kutumba Sabhyulara’ and said that the people of Telangana decided to bring the BJP into power and asked them not to believe the propaganda of the Congress.

Assuring that a BC would be made as Chief Minister of Telangana, the Prime Minister said that K Chandrashekar Rao realised the growing clout of the BJP in Telangana and sought to make amends with the BJP. “But I have not accepted his offer as the BJP will never go against the wishes of the people of Telangana,” Narendra Modi said.

Terming KCR a blind believer in superstitions, the Prime Minister said that he demolished the State Secretariat without any reason causing a huge dent in the State exchequer. “Telangana is branded as an unscientific, superstitious State because of what KCR is doing,” he said. He promised that the BJP if voted to power in Telangana, would reduce fuel prices. “Prati nota okate gana, BJP for Telangana’ he made everyone repeat the slogan.

He reiterated that the next five years would be crucial for the development of Telangana and said that a double-engine Government would boost investment, infrastructure, and real development.
