MUNUGODE: Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Congress MLA and Leader of Opposition in the Telangana Assembly, on Monday said that Munugode was a fortress of the party and exuded the confidence that his party would reclaim it in the impending by-election. The senior Congress leader participated in a meeting held with party activists of Munugode Mandal at the PRR function hall here. The meeting was held to chalk out a strategy for the upcoming by-election.

Speaking on this occasion, Bhatti Vikramarka attacked both the BJP and the TRS for what he called their anti-people policies.

In an apparent move to enthuse the cadre, he said that the constituency belonged to the Congress and appealed to them to work for the victory of the party candidate Palvai Sravanthi. He alleged that the TRS government in the state and the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre were only deceiving the people in the guise of welfare schemes. He further accused both parties of suppressing the media and spreading false propaganda against the Congress party.

The MLA also slammed the BJP over the rise in prices of essential commodities. He accused the Union Government of selling off public sector units. "The Congress party should come to power to rid the country of all these anti-people's policies," said Vikramarka. He also urged the public to utilize their power of vote to banish these parties.

Bhatti Vikramarka also accused the TRS leaders of indulging in corruption in projects like Mission Bhagiratha and Kaleshwaram project. He alleged that the state government had prevented water flow to the Munugode constituency, as the SLBC tunnel project was still on hold. He said that the TRS party had burdened each individual with a Rs 2.25-lakh debt. He requested the people to vote for the Congress party in Munugode which, he said, would bolster the party to win big in the general elections.
