YADADRI: Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao on Tuesday inaugurated a Dialysis Centre at Choutuppal Government Hospital and a 30-bedded CHC Hospital at Marriguda. Incidentally, both Choutuppal and Marriguda fall under the Munugode Assembly constituency, which the BRS (earlier TRS) wrested in a recently held by-election. And the grounding of the development works on Tuesday also marks the fulfillment of poll promises made during the by-election by the ruling party.

Inaugurating the dialysis centre, the Minister said, “Telangana is the only state which provides bus passes and extends pensions to kidney patients. Ever since the TRS (now BRS) came to power, 102 dialysis centres were established in Telangana.” Around Rs 100 crores are being spent for the maintenance of each dialysis centre, the minister added.

Harish Rao also announced that a palliative centre would be established for cancer patients in Choutuppal. “A 100-bed hospital would soon be opened in Munugode constituency,” the minister added.

The Minister, speaking at the inauguration of a 30-bedded CHC Hospital at Marriguda, said, “The hospital was inaugurated after appointing eight doctors from the 950 doctors recruited by December 31, 2022.” The hospital features ambulances for emergencies and digital X-ray machines to provide better treatment to people. Cataract operations are also available at the hospital.

Auxiliary Nursing and Midwifery (ANM), ASHA and Government hospitals should work towards reducing cesarean operations, said the minister. As part of the government’s efforts to fulfill other promises, the minister said that 50 lakhs would be sanctioned for CC roads and drains. “A generator facility, a gyneacologist and ultrasound facility will also be provided at the hospital,” he added.
