HYDERABAD: BRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR) was closeted in a meeting with his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann at Pragathi Bhavan here on Tuesday afternoon. The two leaders were reported to have discussed politics of national significance besides several issues pertaining to development.

The Punjab Chief Minister, who was in town to take part in an investment summit, drove to Pragathi Bhavan in the afternoon for the meeting with KCR, which assumed significance in the wake of KCR recently launching his national party in the name of BRS. There has been a steady stream of national leaders holding deliberations with KCR ever since the latter has inaugurated the BRS Central office in Delhi recently.

Besides politicians of national prominence belonging to several political parties, leaders of various farmers' unions were among those who have been holding confabulations with the Telangana Chief Minister. While extending their support to KCR in his fight against the BJP, the leaders have been deliberating with the BRS supremo about the anti-farmers policies of the Narendra Modi-led NDA government at the Centre, among several other issues.

Following up on Bhagwant Mann's Tuesday visit to the Pragathi Bhavan, several other leaders from Punjab will also be meeting KCR in the days to come. On December 24, Punjab Assembly Speaker Sardar Kultar Singh Sandhwan will visit Hyderabad. He will be accompanied by Deputy Speaker Jaikishan Singh Rouri, Rajya Sabha Member Vikramjeet Singh Sahni and a few legislators from the northern state.
