HYDERABAD: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee President Revanth Reddy on Friday demanded that the CBI should carry out investigation against Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao and the former Telangana Rashtra Samithi, who have been ruling Telangana for the past eight years, for being involved in poaching of MLAs from the Congress Party.

TPCC Chief said that KCR was the reason behind 12 Congress MLAs leaving the party and joining the TRS, now BRS, in the past eight years. He said that defections from the Congress, since 2014, should be investigated by the CBI. Revanth Reddy said that they would also be approaching the Director General of Police, Enforcement Directorate and the director of CBI.

Revanth Reddy said that KCR was conspiring against the opposition parties and was planning to break down other parties. He said that the Chief Minister was not focused on administration and development and was rather focused on weakening the opposition.

He also said that the Speaker did not pass fair judgements even when the TPCC had complained against KCR multiple times. Revanth Reddy alleged that the State Government had provided positions and financial benefits to the legislators who defected from the Congress.

“Pilot Rohith Reddy had complained in the Moinabad Police Station about the poaching. The evidence, which was supposed to be kept within the jurisdiction of the court, was handed over to the Chief Minister and it was given to the State’s SIT. The Court now transferred the case to the CBI. Similarly, the CBI should carry out an investigation against the Chief Minister too.”
