ADILABAD: The bonhomie between Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who both are representing two diamterically opposite political parties, is clearly palpable in full public glare at Adilabad. Revanth Reddy described Modi was 'bade bhai' (elder brother).

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy reached Adilabad in a special helicopter on Monday, and he received Prime Minister Narendra Modi at a public meeting where the latter laid the foundation and launched several projects worth several crores.

Departing from the stance taken by the BRS Government, the Congress Government in Telangana spread a red carpet for the arrival of the Prime Minister for his two-day visit to the State.

Revanth Reddy offered a silk shawl to Narendra Modi as a mark of respect and they shared some happy movements on the stage. “I welcome the Prime Minister who arrived here to launch several programmes for the State,” Revanth Reddy said.

Revanth Reddy said that he would prefer politics only at the time of elections and the rest of the time he would prefer only development. Revanth said that he had respect for the constitutional authorities. “Confrontational approach between Centre and State is not good in democracy. There must be a bonhomie and a friendly atmosphere. That is why I met the PM and also Union Ministers,” the CM said. He thanked the Prime Minister for granting elevated corridors and a textile park.

The Prime Minister also warmed up the hearts of the State Government by clearing the files for the allocation of defence lands for the elevated corridor project before arriving in Telangana. The Prime Minister assured the Chief Minister of the Centre's support to the State in development.

Revanth Reddy said that even though the AP Bifurcation Act guaranteed the production of 4,000 MW of power through NTPC, only 1,600 MW was produced. He assured the Centre that the State Government would also grant all necessary approvals for the production of the remaining 2,400 MW.

He then submitted a wish list to the Prime Minister demanding assistance with the Musi Riverfront project, the expansion of Hyderabad Metro Rail, and the setting up of a semiconductor industry in Telangana. He assured the PM that Telangana would continue its good relations with the Centre and urged Narendra Modi to reciprocate the goodwill gesture.
