HYDERABAD: Superspecialty hospital NIMS has launched Intra-operative Neuro-monitoring, ultra-sonic aspirate medical equipment on the third floor of Trauma Block on Saturday. The hospital spent around Rs 2 crore on the equipment.

Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Health Minister said that with the changing technology the medical facilities should also be improved for providing better treatment to the people. "Establishing a Vascular Surgery Symposium marks a new development with changing technology in the medical field," he added.

Telangana government had dedicatedly developed dialysis centers across the state, said the minster. "There were initially only three dialysis centers which were later developed by the government to 102 centers. Free bus passes, pensions and lifetime medicines were also provided to dialysis patients," said Harish Rao.

"Efficient medical care is available for the poor in Arogya Sri today," said the health minister. NIMS hospital was also equipped with facilities for kidney transplants. "ICU beds have been doubled and Rs 150 crores were sanctioned for the same," added Harish Rao.

The health minister also encouraged the people to promote organ donation. He promised the people of Telangana that vacant posts in the NIMS hospital would be filled and better medical treatment would be provided to the poor at the hospital.
