PEDDAPALLI: Telangana Health Minister T Harish Rao on Thursday said that Telangana would be releasing notifications to fill up 81,000 jobs in 2023.

He was speaking after laying the foundation stone for a 30-bedded hospital in Nandi Medaram in Peddapalli district. The hospital, which would be built with a budget of Rs 20 crore, was an example of how much the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) Government was focused towards developing medical infrastructure in the State, Harish Rao said.

The Health Minister also said that the unemployment rate in the country increased from 6 percent to 8.3 percent in the past eight years. However, Telangana registered an unemployment rate of only 4.1 percent, he said.

Saying that Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao was giving priority to medical infrastructure in the State, the Minister also said that since the formation of Telangana, 21,200 jobs were filled in the medical sector alone. These recruitments include 6,431 doctors, 7,600 nursing staff, 5,192 para-medical staff and 1,900 other medical-related employees.

Harish Rao said that there were only three dialysis centres in Telangana before 2014 and the number had gone up to 122 now. He said that the KCR-led government constructed one dialysis centre for each constituency. He also said the number of ICUs in the State had increased from the earlier 200 to 6,000.
