HYDERABAD: The Telangana All University Students Joint Action Committee on Tuesday vowed to block the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Ramagundam on November 12 to protest against the Centre's failure in releasing funds to the State.
The universities' students JAC levelled various allegations against the Modi government, saying that the Centre was creating hurdles for the development of the state on one hand and fooling the people, on the other hand, with pretentious efforts by launching old projects.
The JAC alleged that the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre could not stomach the prosperity of Telangana due to the initiatives of Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao (KCR). "They are creating hurdles to the administration by using the governor who is only functioning like a BJP worker," they alleged. Unable to face charismatic KCR, they are resorting to backdoor measures to corner by using the governor and thus take revenge on the people, the JAC claimed.
Reacting to the stalling of the Telangana Universities Common Recruitment Bill, the All University United Students union asked Modi to explain as to who stopped the bill and demanded the Centre to immediately pass the bill pertaining to the universities unconditionally. They also demanded that the governor be recalled for – as they alleged – for playing havoc with the future of the university students.
The students vowed that they would block the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Telangana to register their protest against what they called 'continued deprival of jobs to the Telangana youths.
